Back to Square One
Let’s get something out of the way…this isn’t a blog about insurance. Even for us insurance geeks at Square One that would be pretty boring. So you can rest assured that we’re not going to write about the intricacies of additional living expenses protection. Instead, this blog will give you a behind the scenes look at starting-up a new company in a very mature – and sometimes stodgy – industry.
With each post, we’ll share our experiences at Square One where we’ve literally started at, well, square one. As you would expect, we’ve had – and continue to have – our share of successes and challenges. In every instance, we’ve learned a lot and we’re excited to share what we’ve learned with you. We’re hoping this blog helps those of you starting a business realize that it can be done.
There will be three of us from Square One contributing to this blog:
- Chris Bayly, the vice president of finance + underwriting;
- Jason Vander Zalm, the vice president of information technology; and,
- Daniel Mirkovic, that’s me, the president + CEO
